Coming away from my initial blocking, I decided to give it another go because I wasn’t pleased with it and felt like I could push it a bit more. At this point, there were 4 weeks and 5 days until the deadline, so I was hoping that reblocking and sculpting would not take too long before I could begin retopologizing my model in Blender.

This time around I didn’t put my design in the background; instead, I kept up my PureRef file of stuff I wanted to keep in mind whilst blocking.

So keeping certain things in mind, like the fact I want him to be a bit hunched over, he needs to have a fatter neck as bulls have a lot of muscle there for combat, so its important I nail that detail.

I found getting the shape of the head right quite difficult, as bulls have a large, squarish head, but I didn’t want it to be too square.

The ears were also a big challenge for me, as I felt the ears and the shape of the head kept making him look very cute and soft, but I was hoping that later on adding the spikes would contrast this.

I also tried to get the shape of the forehead and bony ridges a bit more prominent in the head.

I didn’t take as many progress screenshots as I should have, but I am so happy with the final product of the blocking and sculpting.

Some parts of him are a little rushed, such as the lioncloth and handcuffs, because I know I need to move onto retopologizing.

For adding detail like the fur and spikes, I used the premade IMM brushes in Zbrush, mainly Creature IMM and the Organic IMM.

So now I have to retopologize him in blender then start on texturing which im hoping won’t be painful.
