I was swapped around this week into group 6, the ‘underground Nicholas cage cult,’ which I was really excited about because this was the only group I had been swapped into and I found their idea to be really fun and interesting!

For our lecture this week, we focused on character design, learned about character reference sheets and model sheets, and did a few tasks in class.

For our work this week, we had to make two character expression sheets to explore how we think our characters would emote and express how they feel. I chose to do Freddy and Foxy and used different images to reference, especially for Foxy. I used more images than I did for Freddy to reference.

Here are some images I used as references:

We also did a scale chart with all the characters on a page based on how tall we thought they would be in relation to each other.

And another in-class exercise we did was a reference sheet where we chose one of our characters and gave relevant written notes on aspects of their design. I chose Foxy because I found him more enjoyable to draw. One of my big inspirations for the design came from a fandom artist called ‘battington’ Their foxy design is below as I took a lot of inspiration from it for this reference sheet and my turnaround sheet.

We also tried to do a turnaround sheet in class, but I only got the front and side views done in class.
