My research for Weeks 2 and 3 overlap so I’ve combined them both into this post. Firstly we were taught the different facets of composition, mainly Thirds, The Golden Ratio. We were asked to demonstrate our understanding of these by highlighting them in some of our favourite animated scenes. I chose this scene from Arcane S1 Ep7 :

At this point we were now working in groups, I was in door world and focused my classwork around concepts for the world. The lesson in week 3 emphasised value and lines to develop the tone of our world. I felt the world should have an eerie, ‘what’s left’ feeling after an apocalyptic event and attempted to demonstrate that through tone and shading:

 

 

 

 

 

 

When I got home I did an additional perspective exercise in my sketchbook, focusing around character proportions and a challenging perspective involving multiple characters :
