Blocking out a low poly character
During week 8 and the start of week 9 I was caught up in work for 2D; so, when it came to when I should’ve been going through the tutorial videos from Blackboard and sticking to them in order to learn how I would do so for my character, I instead decided to use the videos as a guidance for my model whilst I freestyled out the differences.
However, it didn’t end up becoming a problem as I worried about the whole time. Sculpting the head and torso were surprisingly fun, satisfying and intuitive processes. However, later on in the process I found myself struggling with the sculpt mode as a whole when it came to the smaller, more crucial details. I kept my topology in mind so near the end sculpting the lines around totally gave me anxiety that something would break.
Since I was under some time pressure I forgot to take screenshots throughout my modelling process. However, luckily i have some snaps that saved which showcase stages in my process, and my doubt…
Overall a good experience though 8/10.
