Let’s start with the good – it looks like Zubat! The colours are right! I like the wings! and, legs?

Now that that’s over let’s really talk about my Zubat. It’s bad, the situation is unsalvageable. It started bad when my mouth came out to be this super weird shape especially at the back like in the mouth part so I totally covered it up with the black colour roughness turned wayyy up, that I was at least able to sort of fix. The wings though, when I got to that part of the tutorial I kind of just went my own way and started improvising. I do really like the wings though, I was able to get them looking sharp and scarier. However.. I don’t know what I did or when I did it but everything is connected. I can’t figure out how to separate them yet so that has stalled my animation completely, the wings are the only thing that need to move and mine just aren’t ready to take that step.

Other than all that I was happy using the reference image for the first time, and to be able to model a real one from gen 1 Pokémon did make this kind of fun. I also don’t mind the ear shape, the colouring though..
