Week 10 – Animation / Animatic
For this week’s work we made any changes suggested we should make to our animatics and started to work on the beginning parts of animating our parts for the animation loop project. By the end of the week I managed to make a pass of my rough animation and pinned down the timing I wanted for the animation with some changes still to be made
WIP Rough Animation:
For this animation I simply just wanted to try and get the movement I wanted out of the characters by using more blockly and simple version of the characters for the in-betweens. While there still has to be changes and adjustments made to a couple of the scenes I’m happy with the overall outcome of the rough. I feel that the animation quality is decent and the motion, narrative and emotions of the characters in the animatic are still persevered when the animation is playing. For things likeĀ Joe rolling his eyes I wanted to try and get references in order to help get the movement right!
Outcome:
Overall I’m happy with what I’ve made, there are a few changes that need to be done in the animation, for example the door slamming open in the beginning and some tweaks to the easing of some frames, but besides that I think the animation is fine. I still have to put in some more of the character details such as clothing, facial features and other character details but once that’s finished I’ll be ready to begin the cleanup of the animation as well as be ready to start creating the backgrounds. For next time I think I want to try and do more with the storyboard and key-frames of the animation to help with the expressiveness of the animation, in addition to maybe trying more complicated poses and getting characters to interact with elements of the background or items in the scene.
Experimental stuff::
Before starting my animation I wanted to practice a bit my movement so I decided to start animating a character belonging to a user on Twitter (@Mangoso)
