This week I had researched many ideas and visual references to help me design my character. I had come up with three ideas, a Llama, a baby penguin on ice and a small dinosaur similar to Godzilla, stamping between buildings. Out of the three I decided upon the dinosaur idea. I chose this because I felt that there was more to work with and more potential for idea generation.

Below are the images I used as reference and inspiration for the creation of my dinosaur.

I have imported my drawing of my character into PhotoShop in order to find shapes within the character build. Once I had outlined the shapes in the body, It would then be easier for me to block the character using basic shapes in Blender.

As well as doing concepts for my character, I had a bit more practice in class using blender. Henry provided us with a tutorial to follow, modelling an elephant face. I am still getting to grips with the shortcuts and all the tools on Blender and I am still struggling with the software.

I’m not really happy with how it has turned out but I know I’m still in the learning stages of Blender and I hope to improve my skills for this new assignment.
