Before our first class of Semester two, Alec had posted a series of tutorial videos to watch and follow along. The subject of the videos was a cute cactus character. The videos were very helpful and informal. We started from scratch, sculpting the plant pot from a basic cone shape, then creating the cactus starting from a square. As I went through the tutorials I found it easy to follow and very beneficial in helping me learn some techniques and keyboard shortcuts on Maya.
I feel like it was a very useful tutorial and was great for breaking me into Maya before the first class. It meant when I came onto campus for the first class, I had some knowledge of Maya and it made the class easier for me.
