Texturing has always been something I have found challenging however I feel like I have really grasped it with this project as the textures all seem to blend together rather seamlessly whilst maintaining the ancient viking aesthetic I had been aiming for in my references. One of my favourite things is how I maintained the roughness throughout to keep that authentic ancient temple look. however the only error that i believe i could have done better was with certain objects I have stretched in the modelling phase which has been highlighted by the textures as it distorts and those errors are more noticeable. this is something I will work on in future projects to prevent and increase the quality/ appearance of the model.

Here we can see the stretched texture and the way it effects the quality and realism of the model.

Here is a final model textured, The textures have added so much depth to the environment and really brought it to life. The hints of gold amplify that idea of royalty almost providing more of a story and connection. I particular like the combination of the stone and the wood as it is quite relevant to the time as they would of been man made using the materials and resources they have on hand. the colours go together very well and compliment one another while making the environment look more complete. the lighting and shadows created by the windows and candles emphasize a serious and almost eerie atmosphere with harsh shadows and dramatic light changes. I focused on creating more light at the end with the arch way and throne through a much larger chandelier and more lighting as that is where i wanted to draw attention as it gives the impression someone very important lies there who is to be respected and looked up to
