✨ Backgrounds ✨
This week I focused hard on getting my backgrounds done and out of the way, I don’t generally enjoy doing backgrounds so I spent an awful long time on these trying to get them just right! I was working from the inspiration board me and Joseph made in prior weeks for the shapes and compositions.
Lineart is half the battle for me, as it’s where I spend the most time generally, so getting these done was half the battle!

✨ Rough Animation ✨
After lining my backgrounds, I moved on to get rough animations out of the way. For references I was using some gifs from Sailor Moon as well as a video of myself swooshing a big blanket like a cape which I’d prefer not to include hehe…
For the wind I was half winging it and half using tutorials I found online!
Gifs like this helped me a lot as I couldn’t get first hand references of a someone in a cape on a blustery day hehehe. I will say though that animating wind was much harder than I originally anticipated and I spent a really long time on the roughs to make sure I got the flow in the hair to look believable!
