This week, we had to animate a flour sack, with a specific focus on key frames and character acting!

I wanted to convey a character who is cautious but clumsy, tripping over themself and accepting defeat as they sigh at the end.

I used very few in-betweens here, wanting to focus on emphasising the poses of the flour sack. Despite this, I know I can improve my in-betweens and better convey the momentum of each movement.

I could’ve also spent a bit more time to make sure the size of the flour sack stayed consistent after it fell off the wall.

While not using it as a direct visual reference, I was still inspired by the character acting of the Magic Carpet from Disney’s ‘Aladdin’.

And here is the rough storyboard for my shot in the Bioluminescent world animation!

I am doing the shot for Bowvy, the Antelope twin! From a transition with the foreground willow trees, he will be walking through a glowing swamp and will get stuck in the mud. Once he frees his legs, he sees the border of the swamp and walks over to the daylight with another foreground tree transitioning to the next shot.
