Shape and Form

We were assigned homework to draw the shape and form of 3 characters of our choice, I chose to look at the shapes of Samus Aran, Glep and Wirt. I found the shape design of Samus quite interesting as it was more blocky than the other characters since she is wearing a full suit of sci-fi armour. Glep was built up of rounder shapes and is basically almost just a blob with limbs and a hat, which I think compliments his character’s personality very well. Wirt is mostly quite round except for his hat, I was most unhappy with how his shape study turned out as I feel it is slightly incorrect or something is off. This exercise was enjoyable and helped me see the shape build of characters I love, and how this can make the audiences impression of this characters nature vary depending on what shapes they are made up of.
