This week was another opportunity for me to build on the skills from previous weeks, especially those of form, the animation skills and composition. When it came to animating with rough forms I had a good fun animating a flour sack jumping and then falling; especially as I felt free to add some expression and exaggeration into some of these actions. This exercise was incredibly useful for reinforcing my understanding of spacing and timing, trying to think through how gravity would affect the flour sack at each point of the action changing it’s speed and momentum. As well as this I had fun playing with the ways in which gravity affects how the forms of the flour sack overlap and trying to really push the sense that its a lumpy object. By giving the flour sack eyes it really helped with expression as it anthropomorphises him giving the viewer signals as to what he is feeling; as people always look at the eyes.

This week I also finished up my storyboards, I expanded on and tidied up the ideas from the rough sketches I did last week. I kept the story the same but clearly established how the camera would be moving in each scene of the animation and got a clearer sense of the importance of each shot in the scene. I also tried to bring my design style in closer to that of the rest of the group so that there is more visual cohesion between the whole animation. However I still wanted to keep some of my visual style distinct from the rest of the group especially in the way the eyes are drawn as that is the focal point of my scene.
