Starting the first week of proper university classes could be seen as a daunting task but it is one that i chose to embrace and to tackle to the best of my abilities. My introduction to the (fairly unknown to me) blender system has begun well as I have started experimentation outside of class as to reassure and reiterate my learning of this new medium as my skills are usually held to the confined to a pencil and iPad screen. Me and the class begun our series of trial and error tackling of the program by being tasked to create an table and chair. With this beginning task, thanks to the teachings and some of my pre existing knowledge, i created a coffee table, and chose to create a beanbag chair a i found that the task of a traditional chair was far too similar to the table task and thus i wanted to experiment with using the other features of the program to try and create something different. When i was satisfied with the results of the chair, i created some pillows that in all honesty did not contain the creates i imagined but I’m sure through further research and learning, i shall be cable to recreate them. Finally with the time remaining on the task i created an environment for my table and beanbag to exist within, and i have to say i am rather proud of the floor.
The homework provided sparked enthusiasm within me as I began work on making a snowman move. I frequently looked back at the mark scheme (habit instilled into me after Art A Levels) as I am continuing to work on the task, and the word count is getting long, I shall discuss it further in my next blog post. However I shall note the resources I am using to further research into how to perform my best in the first homework of the semester. For example “5 toon shading tips you must know” which i have been finding very informative but due to a lack of knowledge around the linking and data side of blender with nodes and all, it unfortunately has its limitations. “My blender 2D/3D Process with grease pencil” I have found highly intriguing but like before it needs a second watch to fully try wrapping my head around. I do have to remind myself that it is ok that I don’t fully understand this all yest as i am a simple beginner
