Presentation categories
INDIVIDUAL PAPERS
Papers should be submitted for 30-minute sessions, with 20 minutes allocated for the presentation, 5 minutes for Q&A, and 5 minutes for room changes.
Three types of papers may be given:
Research: Papers focusing on a well-defined research topic, supported by a rationale and a concise literature review. The approach can be either empirical or theoretical. A clear outline of the methodology, along with actual or anticipated findings, should also be included.
Research and Development: Papers focusing on the development of applications and programmes that incorporate CALL. The research should be original and may prioritise practical application over theoretical inquiry. Submissions may also be based on projects that are either completed or in progress at European, national, or local levels.
Analytical Inquiry: Papers examining the integration of ICT across diverse contexts and for multiple purposes. This inquiry may involve evaluations or action research. Proposals should contain elements that are applicable beyond the particular context of the described practice.
SYMPOSIA
Submissions for symposia from EuroCALL Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are especially encouraged to promote their work to conference attendees and foster participation in the SIGs. Current EuroCALL SIGs include:
AI SIG, MALL SIG,Teacher Education SIG, Extended Reality and Game-Based Language Learning SIG, CorpusCALL SIG, LMOOC SIG, Less Commonly Taught Languages SIG, Postgraduate SIG.
EUROPEAN PROJECTS
This year’s conference will once again provide a platform for showcasing and sharing EU-funded projects. Each project will have a 30-minute time slot, which includes time for questions.
WORKSHOPS
A limited number of workshops will be organised throughout the conference. The duration of each workshop is max 90 minutes. Workshops usually feature a practical session, allowing participants to engage with the latest advancements in relevant areas of language teaching and learning, along with tools. We especially encourage workshop proposals that address the conference theme from both theoretical and practical viewpoints. Proposals should specify the intended duration of the workshop, its primary objectives, a brief outline of the topics and activities to be covered, as well as any technical requirements. Workshops will take place during the regular conference sessions.
POSTERS
Posters are designed to highlight a specific project or research area, so they should primarily focus on work in progress, although they may also present previous or preliminary findings. Posters should be clear, easy to read, and visually appealing. Submissions from advanced students are particularly encouraged in this category. A prize will be awarded for the best poster in two categories: PhD/graduate students and researchers.
