Class Workshop:

We were supplied with a blender file of a sculpted elephant head to practise retopology.

This was my outcome:

Sculpting my character:

I sculpted the body using my reference photos of my own drawing to help create the same form as best as I could.

Sculpting Hair:

For this assignment, we weren’t allowed to use procedural hair and hair was a big feature for my model, so, I had to do some research on the best way to manually create hair in blender.

I watched a video on how to sculpt hair and managed to form a full head of wavy hair using this technique which consisted of using a Bezier curve to form the shape and then turning it into a mesh to be sculpted slightly.

Retopology on my character:

I found this quite tricky at first so I decided to look up some reference photos and use some of the ones supplied on blackboard to help me. I don’t think it turned out too bad, although I ended up with a lot of faces.
