Story:
Our Group had changed again leaving the final members to further discuss our story and changed it as we did not like how it was flowing. We decided to stick with 3 main characters to not over complicate things considering it was a short animation and there wasn’t enough time to tell a full story of every character. Our 3 main Characters are now The Brother, The girl and The rebel. We broke the story up into different sections so each member of our group had a designated part to storyboard.
Story Summary:
In the distant future Disney has monopolized modern society to an extreme extent. The
unsuspecting public, merely celebrating their favoured franchises, slowly succumbed to this take
over. They now take the form of masked aggressors, digesting everything with the Disney brand and
unable to have control of their own. Everyone is none the wiser to how Disney rose to not only
overthrow society, but become it, however there is a select amount of people who will stop at
nothing to claim back the lives they lost.
This is where our story comes in. Girl MC (could give name?) was in love with all things Disney,
however with the abduction of her brother to the masked aggressors she vowed to put a stop to the
madness and bring her brother home. She joined the maskless rebel group, those who have broken
their masks to break free from Disney’s control. They hatched a plan to somehow disconnect the
masks of the public, however they had no clear idea how. Despite their restless attempts to dodge
any suspicion of their own free will from guards patrolling the slums they found that they needed to
act fast. They have no clear destination; however, the castle would be a good place to start…
Story broken down:
1. ESTABLISHING SHOT of world (important- see worldbuilding thumbnail images) of empty
streets, in ruins. An old man is hunched over watching TV, dazed (brainwashed, not
coherent). Shadowed forms (rebels) whiz past his window. Girl could stop to stare a split
second before moving on, showing pity for the man. Leader is standing above sewer
entrance, standing guard, and the other rebels move the plate. – Aaron.
2. Girl approaches. Girl offers to go first, scared but eager. She climbs down the sewer ladders,
rebels follow. She lands in filth, grimaces, and struggles through the sewers (people who
escaped the surface can be seen as shadows/slumped over/poor health. Wearing broken
masks, shows glimpse of negative effects Disney had?) Sewers led to control tower, the girl
slowly moves the metal plating and sees a figure. – Andrea.
3. Girl waits until guard walks towards plating, waits for leaders signal and jumps the guard.
This sets off the alarm and more guards follow suit. A tall guard attacks the girl (rebels
fighting other guards could be hinted at in background) and the girl dodges his attempt,
shoots his mask and it begins to crack. The guard is about to strike but he freezes, realises
the girl and tenses up. The girl, having a clear view of his face, has a quick reflection of her
brother’s youthful face. The grip on her gun loosens. Her eyes tear up with glee. She reaches
out for his hand. -Malcom
4. Rebel leader is injured, girl stops in her tracks and runs over to check on her. The leader
points to the door in fear, the head of Walt Disney in a large tube, pipes coming from atop
the base. The girl nods to the leader, gets up and begins to walk to the doors. The brother
reaches out his hand and takes her gun. Seeing the girl distraught he pats her head (or hug??
Any form of endearment) and motions to take the rebel leader and flee. – Zoe
5. The girl turns, lifts the rebel’s weight over her shoulders and hands her to the other rebels.
She slowly begins to descend the ladder; she looks back up to her brother one more time.
He smiles at her, waves her off and she closes the plate door. The brother takes a deep
breath and enters walt Disney’s chamber. (His eyes begin to open?) The brother then shoots
the electronics, pipes, and glass. The air releases from the pipes. – Sarah
6. The head begins to stir and growls. The rubber pipes waves in the air and attempts to strike
the brother, he dodges under the tubes and takes cover. While under the table he
completely tears the helmet from his head and spots red wires behind the tank. He takes a
deep breath, runs, grabs the wires and rips them out, causing an explosion. – Nicolle
7. The rebels and girl have made it back outside, patching up the rebel leaders’ wounds. A loud
explosion is heard (or seen?) and sparks release up into the air (could resemble the
fireworks display at Disney theme park?) The girl slowly lifts herself from the ground and
stares at the display. The air begins to clear, there is a small glimpse to when her brother
took her to the park. She smiles at the memory – Ellen
