Week 2 – Homework

This week’s homework so far has been my favorite out of the two. Although I had fun doing the form and shape breakdowns, creating these thumbnails was a fun challenge and tested my creativity.

We were asked to design six thumbnails for our current world we’re on right now, using the composition and perspective techniques we learnt throughout this week’s lecture.

I created six that used a mix of composition such as rule of thirds and golden ration, and in my opinion turned out quite well. At first it was a bit of a struggle to come up with six all at once, but once I started sketching it all came quite natural.

I used rule of thirds in the first and second thumbnail, golden ration in the third and sixth, and symmetry in the fourth and fifth.

I added color just so I could bring it to life even more, but kept to a single color scheme just for now, a mix of blues and yellow. Having used these techniques from the lecture slides I feel as though each thumbnail is elevated and completed correctly.

Overall this week was another interesting week, as I learned much more than I thought.
