This week we took a look at storyboarding and the process behind it, and how to get a good looking and clear storyboard. This was actually quite fun and I learned a lot from this week.
We learnt a lot of different fundamentals to storyboarding, such as staging, avoiding parallels, framing and everything to do with placing the camera in an accurate position within each frame.
CLASS:
The first exercise our lecturer gave us was to create a storyboard of a flour sack jumping or carrying out some sort of movement. This was really fun and I found it quite easy. Although I did use some references, it wasn’t that tricky to complete.

I wanted to add a very cartoonish feel to it so I made sure to add lots of lines and details that would add expression to the sack.
Furthermore I decided to also animate it to see if my storyboards were accurate enough and see the end result.
Our second exercise was to see how well we could add expression and emotion to the character, by portraying an evil wizard over his cauldron.

I made sure to add lots of emotion for a dramatic effect and even did a background design at the end for the full shot. I did find some parts tricky like deciding how the next frames would look like but overall it really worked my creativity.
For fun, gave it a bit of color:
