Although I chose to use Clip Studio for my work, Krita was a great tool to learn to use as each of the tools has a simple and concise interface.
Using the Storyboarded app, I exported each image into clip studio to be sketched over and used as reference. I used them as keyframes to each scene and its focus areas, then adding in-betweens to start studying ways to convey each movement. I ended up adding a few too many which made it look overly animated for an animatic, however, to me that made it easier to understand how to move them later. The entire section took around 6 seconds and a half. Since it was only half of the scene dedicated to that witch it did seem extremely long once clipped together. When clipping the animatics together we decided to add an instrumental piece with a dramatic tone to follow through the video, with the chosen piece following perfectly the transitions and theme of our story. This added another layer to the appeal of our animation.
I used a variety of values to make the atmosphere and depth in the area clear, I believe it lacked contrast, making it lose vibrancy. With my group we started looking into the option of using a monochromatic colour scheme, which for me meant using mutated yellow-brownish colours instead of greys to use the aspect of the colour language learned earlier and connecting the yellow hue to our character Crone’s colour palette.
