Week 3- Tone/Value

This week we focused on tone and value. I haven’t been able to do much work this week as I have been working quite a lot, But I was able to complete two thumbnails for the planets in Photoshop. The First, is of the city planet, I took reference from a map in Call Of Duty zombies- Die Rise. It includes skyrise buildings above clouds with pieces of debris floating in the sky, similar to my idea of what the city planet could look like. The second is of the mushroom planet, again I used the idea of debris floating round the planets sky as a result of the explosion.

Week 2- Composition And Perspective

This week we took a look at composition and perspective in animation. We were asked to take scenes from our favourite animated show and create one and two point perspectives.

We were also split up into groups and were tasked with coming up with ideas for our own world. In our group we came up with the idea that the earth has exploded due to some reason. There a 4 major rocks which each have their own community that has evolved over time. There is a city planet with a cyberpunk esc aesthetic. Another is a desert like planet with oversized mushrooms scattered throughout. The next is a jungle planet with monkey like creatures living on it. And the last is a snowy mountain planet with giant ice crystals. We then used these ideas to make basic thumbnails for how the planet could look.

Week 1- Form And Shape

For our first week we started with the basics, Form and shape. We were asked to take 3 three of our favourite animated characters and trace over them to find their underlying forms. For this I chose Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars: the Clones Wars, Miles Morales from Into The Spider verse and Stewie Griffin from Family Guy.
