Do you want to take part in current research about the Covid-19 pandemic?

For my dissertation project, I am evaluating the impact of stress caused by the Covid-19 pandemic on toddler lexical development.

Purpose of the study

  • This research is being conducted for a dissertation project by Jessica McCourt at Ulster University.
  • We are inviting you to participate in this research project because you are an adult native speaker of English who has had a child during the Covid-19 pandemic (between March 2020 – January 2021).
  • The purpose of this research project is to better understand how infants learn vocabulary.

Procedure

  • Online survey
  • Inventory checklist of vocabulary

The full survey will last no longer than 20 minutes and you can save your progress as you go along. You will be required to give consent before starting the survey.

Confidentiality

Please be assured that all information will be anonymous and treated as confidential. Your participation in this study is voluntary, and no personal details are kept about you or your child. You will also be free to leave the study at any time without giving any reason.

The survey will collect data online and will be stored on a secure computer. The data will only be accessed by the research team. All answers given on the survey will be stored without any identifying information. The findings from this project will be used to write a dissertation project, that may also be submitted to an academic journal.
