After looking at my designs for the character I was going to model, I decided on a final design that I was happy with:

I wanted to use a good deal of exaggeration to emphasis a sense of power and authority while staying true to SpongeBob’s art style, which I think I was able to nail the style in which
the characters are made in. I also drew up the prop that I want to include in my 3D model; a briefcase. I think it would suit my character as it adds to his professional and smart appearance.

As well as using the typical mafia boss character genre, I used inspiration from different exaggerate models wearing highly unusual clothing that emphasis on the long, bulky shoulder pads that emits power and status.

Modelling the character

I went through MANY attempts at creating a suitable body shape that kept an organized topology. My first few attempts were very messy as I tried to shape the shoulder pads way too early on the model which greatly messed up the topology. I eventually began to create a model that had good topology, that was neat and organized. Although I sadly forgot to take more screenshots of the process.
One of my main issues I faced was trying to model the jacket without messing up the topology. Using an example in one of the tutorials, I found a way to simply cut the outline of the jacket flaps and extrude to create the shape which I was surprised on how well it went.

I also modelled my prop as well which was the briefcase. It was a very simple shape, so I don’t think there’s a lot to talk about it.
