In this week’s class, we went through 2 in-class exercises, which were a skateboard and a pull kart. The biggest struggle I think i had for this class was getting used to the different shortcuts for extruding, scaling and rotating. I had quite a few failed attempts at making the skateboard, but I eventually understood where I was going wrong by rewatching the tutorials.
Progress on the skateboard

I wanted to add more to the scene, rather than just leaving it as a skateboard. The scene felt rather bland, so I decided to add my own elements to give it more of a ‘skateboard’ vibe by modelling a small skate park around the skateboard to make it look like it belonged in the scene.
Final product:

Our next class exercise was a pull kart. It had a very similar process to the skateboard, so I didn’t really have a lot of issues or setbacks when modelling it. I had decided to mess around with the lighting, the sun tool specifically to manipulated where the shadows were being casted in the scene.

Homework : Tie Interceptor
For this week’s homework task, we were instructed to create and animate a model of a tie interceptor from Star Wars. I had first thought of the task seeming to be quite hard, but it wasn’t too bad once I began to watch the tutorial videos. I was soon enough able to model my own, but ran into quite a few problems with beveling, and mirroring. I had been mirroring the model on the wrong axis for most of the modeling process, but was able to fix my error by changing the mirrored Axis. overall, I was quite happy with how the animation turned out.
