Personally this assignment felt difficult and a lot of times I felt impostor syndrome and self confidence hinder my work. But it has been very rewarding to see the outcome of determination. Overall I’m really pleased with what I have accomplished, it took a lot of long working days but I think it paid off. Having little to no knowledge of how to use Maya or 3D model I feel I’ve come a long way. Although a frustrating medium to learn, I really enjoyed working in Maya specifically and I can see myself spending more time in the future refining this skill.
The thing I was most unsure about what UVing. At the beginning I was really put off and kind of afraid of always doing it wrong. But after attempting it a few times & watching many videos, plus lectures I can see that there not a real way of doing it incorrectly. It really pushes you to try new solutions or research ways to fix certain issues.
Texturing was also stressful but I can see myself loving it as I get more familiar with the tools. Already looking at the model now I can recognise mistakes & things I wish I could of changed, but thats part of the learning process. With a lot of time, practice and research I hope I can develop my skills to add 3D modeller to my list of skills.
