Week 3 – 3D Digital Lit – Texturing and 3D Mapping

During this weeks class we learned how to UV unwrap and texture in Maya. Immediately I wasn’t a huge fan, but it was easy enough to follow the steps in class with some help from the lecturers.

 

 

For this weeks homework I did the Interceptor – Mainly I used the extrude tool to create this model, and only worked on one side of the wing, as later I could mirror the pieces using the mirror tool. I UV’d the model before doing the mirror tool, as it would then duplicate the UV work I had done. I then just Modify> Layout again to make sure they were neatly grouped.
