For this week, we were learning how to use Sketchfab – which is what we will be using to upload our final Model for the assignment.
Following the tutorial and using an example piece, at the start we still playing around in Substance before bringing to Sketchfab. This class I made my watercan pink and added a alpha height stamp which was a step further than what I had managed before.
For sketchfab once we are happy with our textured model, we export the maps that are relevant to what we used on the model. In sketchfab you can either drag your model plus textures in at once, or bring in your model and hand pick what map is to fit where.
You are able to manipulate the lighting and post processing filters, which was a lot of fun. I felt the watering can looked pretty cute so I set up a warm environment and lighting, and a little noise too.
This was a useful site that was shared with us to keep track of texture maps: https://help.poliigon.com/en/articles/1712652-what-are-the-different-texture-maps-for
