Week 3 – Animated Narratives – Ideas and Concepts

Were were assigned as Group 1 – My group was Jorja Notman, Amy Long, Jasmin Sheppard, Lydia Bingham and myself.

As soon as we were put into our group we quickly went to work and brainstormed many ideas that fit the nature theme, we tried our best to keep in mind the length of the animation, the complexity of the story and the ability to model our characters. We got a little bit carried away with our ideas, but there was plenty to choose from. We decided to pick our favourite 3 from the board and whatever got majority votes we would go forward with as our animation idea. The group did some quick concepts to help visualise some of their favourite ideas.

After the top three ideas were chosen, we all pretty quickly chose the Graveyard Plant idea with the amrature mentioned. I had made the majority of the first concepts, after we chose it the group created many more along with a collection of references and inspirations.
