Original group:

During last weeks class, everyone was split into groups consisting of 10 or so people. Our task was to note down 100 crazy and fun ideas about a world we wanted to create and develop, our group managed to write down about 40ish collective ideas before we were split once again. These ideas were very vast and unique, distinct by others interests and knowledge. It was a fun exercise that held no seriousness, the freedom to think and create any kind of crazy world gave us the opportunity to create new and interesting concepts.

 

 

Group 1:

Now in a team of 5 people; Manny, Kaz, William, Jack and myself. We were tasked to narrow down some of the favourites we had from the previous group and create our own world. We added new ideas that fit with previous ones, merged some with others and replaced some entirely.

We ended the day with 5 ideas to be narrowed into one. During our own study/research time we began to individually develop sketches and character ideas to help enrich our worlds. Planning a group meeting on Monday morning to compare ideas and notes, to again merge ideas and further develop our world.

In our meeting we all easily decided in unison that Idea 1 was the concept to develop further. Adding more references, noting the mood of the world/animation and the environments reflection on the characters. We are moving onto creating thumbnails, objects and clothing that would be set in a futuristic Neo Noir world.
