World Building Group meeting took place this week after Yuan’s lecture. We all made it except Isiah, but we filled him in through Discord. During our discussion, we decided the rough plot would be:
- Adventurer goes through the 5 stages of grief after losing her family (originally, we were going to go for 7 deadly sins but changed it to grief instead due to time constraints), the Spirits of the Northern Lights are all knowing so the adventurer seeks their help to maybe bring back family? But instead, she learns to accept her loss.

Homework
For this week we had to create up to 12 thumbnails based off our World Building group. I was quite busy with work so I couldn’t come up with the 12 but managed to get at least 4 done. The first three show 3 of our characters in their environments: Beta, puffer fish and blob fish. We were asked to complete this homework in greyscale which I found quite tricky, along with the challege of backgrounds but overall I thought it was a fun exercise.

Switching Groups
During class we were moved around in our groups to promote our interactions with new peers and practice dropping projects as this happens a lot in the animation industry. I will say, personally, Savannah, Charlotte and I moved to group 10, and we were all devastated after growing so attached to our previous World. However, I understand the meaning behind this exercise as it should help condition us to not grow too disheartened in future if this were to happen in situations like this within the industry.
Group 10: Forest Society
This previously hadn’t developed their World as thoroughly as we had but we had a productive session and changed a lot of the previous concepts. Here’s our board:

I enjoyed working on something new, but I was quite disheartened about the group swab.
Compared to last week, I wasn’t as productive.
