Travel app- illustration style research

I have been researching a range of illustrators and designers to try and find the right illustrative style that I want for my travel app. I enjoy doing master apprentice challenges so I have done another based on Kyle Tezak’s work, I have previously researched Kyle Tezak’s work, access that blogpost here. While researching this designer I came across an illustration of an airplane he did using an uncomplicated approach with very simple shapes and a minimal style choice and colour palette, this is something that I thought would suit the type of travel app that I want to design so I re-created it. Here is how it went…

My Re-creation-

Colour Palette

I have started to look at colour palettes and different options and when I see one I like I save it into my Adobe colour library, I think this colour scheme is complimentary and suitable for a travel app and this is a theme I want to look into.

Reflection

Reflecting on this challenge I have again enjoyed working with simple shapes, and from all of the designer and illustrator research I have completed I have decided I want to keep my travel app simple with a minimal colour palette. This was another fun master apprentice and I do see a big improvement with my illustration skills as a result of this practice.
