Monogram further development
Taking Daniel’s advice I have taken 2 of my favourite monogram ideas and developed them further, I have included those sketches and iterations below.
1.Infinity
2.Sliced
More Iterations
The two approaches for my monogram are the infinity style and the jigsaw style, both mean different things and have different messages behind them, I will go into more detail about this in my next post. After sketching both out I am still undecided so I have decided that I still want to bring both forward into the digital design stage. After deciding that these are the two that I want to bring forward digitally I have done some more sketches and iterations of both styles and I have included them below. I have done more iterations as I want to be fully prepared before heading to the digital stage.
Infinity approach
jigsaw/sliced
Reflection
I have learned a lot about what I want my brand to say about this iteration stage, I like both styles and I like both meanings behind each of the designs above. I am still undecided but doing more and more iterations it has helped me see all of the possible possibilities and I feel much more prepared to take this to the digital design stage. I think I did enjoy drawing the infinity monograms more, I felt a better flow with my ideas and iterations with that particular approach. I have played around with single like sketches and thicker lines for these monograms and I feel whatever design style I decide to go for it will be made with a thicker bolder like, instead of a thinner one.
What is next?
I will begin to design these digitally, I want to do both styles digitally and then present them to Daniel to get his opinion. After all of this sketching I am still undecided however if I had to pick one, personally am leaning more towards the inanity approach I am enjoyed making those iterations more and I feel it represent what I want my brand to represent more that the jigsaw idea. However I want to see what they both look like digitally so I will develop both.
