Bio’s

Designers influence

I decided to look at a few of the designers Daniel talked about in week 1 lecture and I branched out into the web and found some of my own inspiring social media bio’s.

Twitter Bio’s

Vic Bell– “Making things, mainly sandwiches. Senior illustrator @gitlab and making fun stuff for Bear Notes App.”

Jessica Hische– “New York Times Bestselling Author, Lettering Artist, Over-Sharer, Parent of Three Small People. She/Her.”

Rick Monro– “Design, strategy, consulting, coaching, culture, innovation, comics+electronica may also appear.”

Kezie Todd– “Maker of stories, monsters, and designs with personality.”

Sarah Parmenter– “Designer. Blogger. Speaker.”

Veerle Pieters– “Belgian graphic/web designer, author of Veerle’s blog. Loves soulful deep house music and riding her bicycle. Vive le vel0!”

From looking at Twitter bio’s I have come to the understanding that they are short, snappy and mainly use single words and very short phrases. This research gave me a good insight to what language and writing style designers use today, and I want something short and catchy that I can put across all social media platforms.

Long bio-

Hello, I’m Caoimhe and I am an interaction design student studying at Ulster University. I have a passion for all things design, from graphics and illustrations to UX design, I just can’t get enough! I am an eager and enthusiastic learner who enjoys adding to my skill set across all platforms. I am driven and ambitious with the hope to help a lot of people with my innovative designs one day, and I am excited to see what the future of IXD will hold. When I’m not creating I am exploring, with my obsession for travel continuing to grow I can’t wait to get out there, meet new people and see what the world has in store for me and to make some memories!

Social Bio (shorter)-

  • Student designer who has a passion for learning, creating and making memories.

I am aware that these bio’s will change a number of times as I develop as a designer and my career progresses. I want to improve on my writing skills and ensure that I am using the necessary words and phrases to get my image and brand across to the world in the best light.
