One of the tasks Daniel set us this week was to complete content audit exercises that were available on blackboard.
What are content audits?
A content audit is the process of evaluating content elements and information assets on some part or all of a website.
For the content audit exercise we were asked to choose a brand we feel like we know well, I chose ASOS. Below I have added images of my completed exercise in my sketchbook.
What did I learn?
This exercise got me to learn what content audits are and how they are reflected in brands we use everyday. These tasks got me to think more deeply into brands I interact with on a daily basis, I never really thought about how ASOS uses it’s tone of voice to attract young adults and persuade them to buy their trendy, creative clothing. I enjoyed thinking about brands in different ways and in particular with small phrases and words I associate with particulars brands. Creating a brand word bank and dictionary was a successful task and got me to think about important words and words that I hope people will associate my brand with one day. I will definitely refer to these techniques when branding myself…
Moving forward I will complete the same exercises for my personal brand.
