Flour SackĀ

Pre-production:

In order to prepare for my flour sack animation I thought I should first do some preproduction work.

I started off by drawing some character form studies, in order to get a grasp on what the actual shape and form of the character was.

It was from these studies that I found interesting poses, that I wanted to integrate into my animation. Based off these poses I came up with the character movement and actions. I was going to jump straight into animating, however I thought if I blocked it out it would help me to visualise the movements more.

This rough blocking ended up being incredibly useful, as it allowed me to run through the timings so much easier. And I feel my animating process sped up significantly because of it.

Conclusion:

Overall I am very happy with this animation, and I feel i’ve learned a lot about just how helpful and important clear pre production and planning in animation can be.
