I think my animation is coming along well. Im enjoying bringing these scenes to life. I animated the face turn this week, along with further roughing out and adding to the next scene.
Im very proud with how the face turned out. I feel that what i’ve learned in the previous weeks about pre-production and planning is what particularly helped me. However in the next shot, i was confused as to what was making the protagonists movements seem so rapid and unrealistic. Until I got some amazing feedback from Patrica in one on ones. About how the protagonist pushes the big guys hand away. She mentioned further exaggerating the push, and making it longer. As it didn’t seem to read that well. So I ended up further refining that final shot.
Revised Animation:
Overall I am much much happier with the protagonists movement in her push now, I feel that the added exaggeration really makes the scene read better. I want to finish the rest of the animation with this improvement in mind, making time for her movements to be more exaggerated.
Further Revised:
Im happy overall with this finished rough pass of animation. I am however slightly disappointed that I didn’t have time to fully finish the tall guys movement in the third shot.
Backgrounds & Lighting
Matthew recently posted some really nice backgrounds which he used in his animation. Seeing his backgrounds made all of us as a group agree that his backgrounds and colours perfectly represented the atmosphere we wanted to create.
(Matthew’s BG)
Finding this base for our backgrounds was a very comforting step forward in creating our individual scenes.
