MY TARGET AUDIENCE:
After deciding that I want to go for the undergraduate uni student option I started to brainstorm questions that may be useful to ask in a user questionnaire/ survey.
CREATING A PRINT-OFF SURVEY SHEET:
I need to know the users goals they’re trying to achieve when using my learning tool. As a result I asked them which degree they’re currently studying, what their age was, what their preferred style of learning was, and a range of questions about digital learning tools they’ve used in the past.
A CHANGE IN DIRECTION – CREATING A DIGITAL SURVEY TO ALLOW A WIDER GROUP OF PARTICIPANTS:
After sending the physical survey out to a participant they suggested the idea that I create an online survey.
the positives of this would be that:
- it would be faster (no travel / need to physically give the survey out to people)
- no need for printing
- allows for a wider range of people to take the survey
- allows for a more varied group of user information
- more accessible for people – people can do the survey anywhere via their phones / computers
WHAT I’VE LEARNED FROM THIS EXERCISE:
- I should be more specific with questions in the future and even include example answers so that fast reading participants can understand what im trying to achieve, and so they understand the question better.
- Depending on the audience (if its an adult audience as opposed to children) I will use a digital/ online survey instead of a physical one. This is because it will allow more people to fill it out in their own time
