CREATING A PLAYFUL & BUBBLY TONE OF VOICE
I love the playfulness of the typefaces Boswell creates. Each letter has a personality and character of its own. I really like the effect of the jumbled letters below, and the way a variety of letterforms from seemly different typefaces have been used to create a playful and bubbly tone of voice.
I like the effect of the overlapping typefaces in the image below – this is something ill consider when creating my own:
I love how in the two images below there is a slightly almost pixelated typeface however it has been altered so the edges are rounded and so it looks almost like clouds:
WHAT I’VE LEARNED:
– I should choose a simple typeface and play around with it, experimenting and making alterations until i am happy with it (similar to the pixelated, bubbly looking typeface in the third design).
– I should also aim to create a playful, bubbly tone of voice with my typeface as I feel this represents my own personality, and the personality I want to present my brand as having.
– When pairing my main typefaces I should use a very legible, easily understandable secondary typeface with the main one which may be more personality driven and therefore illegible.
