SKETCHING A VARIETY OF MONOGRAMS:
When I first started drawing out my monograms I did a page of very varied designs. I wasn’t sure what I liked and so there was a very wide variety in what they looked like. By the end I figured I liked the look of when the B was broken down into two circles.
MONOGRAM FEEDBACK:
Daniel said that he liked the chunkiness of the monograms I created, as well as the 3D aspects to a lot of them.
THINKING ABOUT ANIMATION:
A CHANGE IN DIRECTION:
As a result I did a page of designs made up of purely circles. I found there was a lot of variation I that could be done with the placement of them. Because of this I could potentially animate them to move into these different layouts as you can see below:
DIGITISING MY MONOGRAM PROCESS:
TAKEAWAY:
- I’ll continue to make use of simple, geometric shapes throughout my work as I feel it stands out well, is flexible, and non obtrusive to the eye
- Throughput my research into monograms I’ve also found that using geometric shapes without too many details allows for the brand to stand the test of time as it doesn’t follow trends or try to appeal to one specific audience
