RESEARCHING THE LAYOUT AND PURPOSE OF POLARSTEPS

I loved the concept for this app as well as the UI.  The purpose is to keep track of all the places in the world you have visited. It also analyses your preferences and even your camera roll in order to show you other places you might enjoy.  Stylistically this app is really nice too; the colours, typography, illustrations, and layout all make for an enjoyable, straightforward, and friendly user experience.

I love the usage of UI cards as options for where to go.  As a result this is something I’ll try and make use of in my own travel app design.  The monochromatic illustrations on the UI cards is something I also really like the look of.  The  nav/ icon set at the bottom is also notable.  I think the way that the grey turns to red is very effective in showing the user which page they’re on.  The typography is also something i’ll aim to recreate too: its a bold, legible sans serif that stands out to the user while also maintaining a friendly, welcoming tone.
