Pitch Presentation & Feedback (Semester 3 Week 3)

This week we presented our idea. We got a lot of criticism, we needed to clarify whether our puppets where felt hand puppets or wooden marionettes, and we needed to come up with a clear story structure.

After that, we needed to talk, only three us of were in but we did get a lot of things sorted. We definitively chose to make a horror story, with felt hand puppets in a dingy garage. We got talking about the plot, picking up on a lot of similar traits between out different storyboards and writing out a list of plot points so now we have a more concrete narrative.

We’ve also settled on a style for the puppets having them be very round and simple, like children’s toys. We thought this would work for better expressions and animation, as well as make them more sympathetic and cute. Everyone is going to be designing their own puppet designs, and I’ll be sketching ideas for the Puppeteer. I also threw together a basic plan of what the workshop might look like.
