Semester 2 Week 4 (Pre Visuals)

This week we were learning about the process of previs, where previs artists make very basic models and scenes for a director to show how a shot might look in motion. It can help a director decide on how the cameras should move in a shot, and help them make any decisions about the action on screen before they start recording footage.

We saw some examples of this for The Matrix: Reloaded, with the highway car chase

Then we need to do some exercises, learning to move and set up multiple cameras. It was pretty fun, I enjoyed learning the tools, and it was a lot of fun getting to chose and influence the scene in my own way

The next thing we did was look at the iconic scene in Jurassic Park and attempt to recreate the first 40 seconds. I found this a lot harder, since I needed to match the more real movements of the people and getting the right angles.
