Tie Intercessor Animation
We were told to make a Tie Intercessor from Star Wars and animate it flying around. Making the model itself wasn’t too tricky, the wings were probably the hardest part with getting the right angles and insetting the faces. I had some problem when insetting the faces on the wings, I realized I had some vertices overlapping, so I dissolved them and that ended up fixing the issue. The only other part of the model I had issues with was the bits connecting the body of the ship to the wings, the tutorials helped a lot with how to properly apply the loop cuts.
Animating it was new for me. I’ve done plenty of keyframing animation in blender but this time we were told to have the model move along a Bezier curve. I’d never done thisĀ before so it was a fun thing to learn. After adjusting the speed and keyframing the angles I was able to grasp the Bezier curve. I’m looking forward to how I can use them in the future.
Finally I wanted to add something extra, the starry background. I achieved this by adding a noise texture to my world settings, increased the scale and messed around with the Colour Ramp until I got what I wanted. I like how this turned out, I’m a bit annoyed I didn’t get the lasers to work properly but the model and animation went smoothly so I can’t complain.
