Exhibition- Catalyst Arts Gallery

Here is another exhibition visit to the Catalyst Arts Gallery. This exhibition was based on “Ornaments Of Prospect” The contrast between the shapes and colour is very strong, I think that these would work really well as pattern ideas to incorporate in my experimental typography pieces.

Exhibition- Belfast Exposed Gallery

This exhibition was based in the Belfast Exposed Gallery, which was called “Nothing but a Curtain” by Vera Hadzhiyska. So here I’ve taken various photos of the artist’s work and the space surrounding. What I like about this exhibition is that it’s very abstract and it’s showing a variety of media’s including: textures from fabric pieces, photography pieces, set ups and colour.

Exhibition- Golden Thread Gallery

Here is another interesting exhibition that I recently visited, called VOX HYBIRDA by artists Alice Maher, Chloe Austin and Emma Brennan which was held in the Golden Thread Galley. There was a particular piece that caught my attention, was the wall that had back to front lettering which appeared to me that wood was chipped into creating these very interesting words.

Exhibition- The Mac Gallery

For this project I went to visit a few exhibitions. This exhibition is based in the Mac gallery, which is about 10 years of painting. I found this exhibition very interesting, especially the vivid colours used in some pieces, which I think is helpful as gives me inspiration of what to incorporate into my own work.

Jamie Reid’s Art Exhibition – observation sketches

Whilst visiting the Taking Liberties exhibition I had created a series of quick observation sketches of the artists work along the way. Within these sketches I had just included a few individual pieces that I had taking great interest in and I had also taking consideration of the space surrounding and layout of their work, as the artist had a great display.

Art Exhibition – Jamie Reid

Here I had visited Jamie Reid’s Taking Liberties art exhibition which is based on features posters, banners, drawings and collages designed by Jamie Reid with the express purpose of viscerally grabbing the public’s attention, increasing awareness of campaigns for social justice from the 1970s to today – against the Poll Tax, English heritage and colonialism, Clause 28 and the Criminal Justice Bill and promoting the work of Occupy London and Extinction Rebellion.
