Week 9 – Using Shape Keys and Drivers

Puppet development:

During the development of my model I had to extend and scale the edges of the arm to make it rounder as whenever I shade smooth the arms don’t look good. I also had to scale the cuffs of the puppets sleeves to make it look like it’s a cuff.

After I finished editing the arms I added the armature. I tried experimenting with the custom object by using an eyedropper tool on a torus shape for the master control but it didn’t work, I had to rotate it to get the controller to look right but I felt that it might cause some issues with the model so I deleted it.

 

Monkey Face-rig tutorial:

During today’s class we learned about using shape keys and drivers. Using the tutorial videos on Blackboard I was able to create facial-expressions for the monkey.
