With two different character designs in mind, I needed to focus on which one I’d enjoy making and which one fit in with Genndy Tartakovsky’s style. I couldn’t help but be drawn toward my chef. I wanted to make a feminine soft-featured character that also looked evil… if that makes sense. I watched the films again over the weekend and drew inspiration from two characters.

I chose Erika from the third film because I liked the dramatic proportions of her body, with her neck and arms being skinny while her breasts and bum were exaggerated. Mavis’ side profile was what I was aiming for, soft and almost childlike. I looked into Eunice, her figure along with Erika’s inspired my design. I also looked at her hair for inspiration but ultimately landed on a simpler design as this would be my first time sculpting hair and I didn’t want to throw myself in the deep end. I really love Genndy Tartakovsky’s style and am excited to deep dive into this project.

I drew a more in-depth version of what id like to make on blender and decided on a color scheme. After thinking f over I noticed that Tartakovsky’s more human characters are all regular skin toned with the exception of Frankenstein and his wife. I wasn’t too keen on the idea of making her a chef because I felt like she had more potential, to rule over a lost city but is modest in how she dresses.

I switched up her colour scheme and she began to look less friendly which was the goal. I wanted her to have red eyes and a baliage in her hair to convey that she has the ability to change.
