
This week was the long-awaited texturing. I had spent time making colour schemes to follow

For the Alien

For the FPS arms and npc’s.

I had followed the same scheme I used during the block out process and took that forward with me into substance painter.

Initially, I created the textures above, I asked the group for feedback and it was clear that I was going a bit too detailed, using shader textures that were pre-made so I went about figuring out how to create textures that aren’t too simple yet are not too detailed.
I watched the videos above to learn more about creating stylized textures. I learned about layering faux paint strokes and using maps to create more depth.

In the meantime I created alphas to stick onto the suit



I drew up some decals to add to the suit to get the Saturday morning cartoon style down.

By the end of the week I had the NPC’s completed and added them into unreal to make sure they worked, I had to turn down the roughness but after they worked just fine.
