This week, finished with my work and with Luca taking over the animations I asked the animators in my group if they needed more help with any work.
I followed this tutorial again.
For sean I helped texture a few props he had made

I began with the medkit, a simple task

I then textured the barrels he had made, constantly keeping contact so that sean liked the textures I added.

Two props that I textured for sean were the 02 tank and a fuse, these two proved more difficult so they might need to be remade.

I made several book options to be scattered around the game aswell

Finally, I textured this box which was one of two boxes that were made. I asked Luca what I could do and he said the floors so I got started on them by creating a plane in blender and exporting it into substance painter.

I created four options for the game design students to choose from. I used a height pen to create he depth and some premade alphas aswell, ensuring they were mirrored so that they’d fit well together.
After finishing this task for Sean and Luca, I asked what assets I could create. The game designers asked me to create doors, light fixtures, a computer panel and chairs that weren’t made from the list.

The doors above are references I used to make the door.

I began with the doors and textured them in substance after, exporting it in three parts so that the game designers could replace the automatic door in unreal with my version.
Next I began on the computer pannel

Above is the reference I used for it

I made the lights, Katy wanted them to be simple as the level design was already complete and she wanted them to fit into the walls she already made which was fine as they were very simple.

Finally, I began working on the chairs, I didn’t know what kind of chair to create, katy mentioned something industrial so I researched ‘space chairs’ and found this

I decided I would make something similar because katy said it didn’t need to be complex, just there to fill space.

I made two options, a regular standing chair and a folded option to fill more space.

I added quick textures to the baked fbx files and had them sent to Katy within the hour.
