For this project, it was asked that we make custom assets for our project, whether that be in unreal engine or making custom brushes in blender.
I already spoke about the custom brushes that I did use in blender which was a brush I had made, a brush I got online and a VDM brush that I created in blender.

Above is the alpha that I made myself

Above is the second brush I used which I found online. I tried contacting the person who uploaded the brush to interest but I got no response then I contacted a second person who I think is the creator of this brush but again, no response. Below I will reference to who I think the original creator of the brush is and where I Originally found the brush.

I wanted to make a few more customer assets to prove my skills so nearing the end of my project I went back to blender and decided to make seaweed
I made planes draping over the character’s arm and leg using a similar technique to retopology, from there I took the UV map into photoshop and created an alpha to look like seaweed.
I took them into unreal directly and placed them onto the planes, making them translucent and adding a noise map and a second colour so they resembled seaweed.
above you can see it hanging off my character.
I also have water in my environment, to make this I went onto Quixel Bridge to make a plane with a reflective surface that resembled mirky swamp water
Using the node tree I was able to give it ripples and make it translucent around the edges.
My character resembled plastic a bit too much which I wasn’t a fan of so with some help I added more materials and shaders to add a wetter look and make the character seem like he had just emerged from the swamp which was what was written in my original script
