This week we focused on sculpting hair but my project doesn’t include any so I went ahead and continued to work on my second round of sculpting. I added a multiresolution modifier to level 5 and I made my VDM brush and applied that but I faced a new problem, my eyes were messed up. The first retopology I did was the eyes but for some reason in the sculpt, they had holes in the mesh. I went into edit mode to see the problem and noticed that I had extra polygons layered on top of each other and triangles were appearing which was so strange so I quickly fixed that after messing around for a while.

I spent a good few hours at the uni on Sunday night sculpting, using custom brushes and just adding as much detail as I could.

I was so happy with how it was going so I posted to my Instagram on my progress but I accidentally saved an old file on top of it so nothing I did saved. I checked the auto-save tab in blender but it was completely gone. I went home defeated but went back to the old file and re-did it all again, this time much quicker and even was able to change a few things to make it better.

I still have to add my custom brushes but I want to leave that detail till the end in case I want to change them at all. I Had to add extra teeth by using the snake hook tool and shaping them using the crease tool. The mouth also needed to be pushed back so I added a mask to the rest of the body and cut out the inside of the mouth by inverting the clay strips brush. I’m actually really happy with how my project is developing, it’s much better than I expected and I cant wait to move onto adding materials!
